PhInt abroad: Exchange with University of São Paulo
PhInt PhD-student Sevetlana Miliutina completed a three-month research stay at the Institute of Physics (IFSC), University of São Paulo.
Svetlana reports on the exchange:
"During my research stay abroad, I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Prof. Marcos de Oliveira Junior and Prof. Henrik Bradtmüller at the Institute of Physics (IFSC), University of São Paulo. My work focused on solid-state NMR, particularly exploring molecular dynamics using NMR techniques. The support from their PhD students was incredible because they guided me through experiments and helped me dive deeper into the research.
Outside the lab, I enjoyed the sunny weather by going for early morning runs at sunrise. I also loved tasting local fruits like acerola and mango. On weekends, I traveled and explored Brazil, including a memorable visit to the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. I experienced the local culture across Brazil, including dancing Pagode and Samba.
Overall, this stay was not only scientifically inspiring but also personally memorable. It was a perfect mix of research, collaboration, and the lively culture of Brazil."
